I have for sale a 1937 Standard Flying 12 AL (commission no. D2987DL) with V5C and original registration number (originally registered in Coventry).

The vehicle is complete and not dismantled.  It has been off the road for about 40 years but runs and is driveable.  Some initial restoration has been done but requires more.  I am asking £750. Telephone no. 01621 868751 (Maldon, Essex).  Graham Chambers.

Three Standard Flying Twelves for sale in New Zealand. Dad passed away about a year ago. In his 900 square foot garage are three Flying Standard 12's. I think they are all 1938. His name was Errol Huett and he may be on your books, I'm not sure. As much as I'd love to keep the cars it's impractical and mum needs the money really. However if we didn't get a fair price then I guess I could take them over. The first Standard is fully restored- colour cool green and in excellent condition. He restored it himself. In my mind it is immaculate really. Registration is on hold. I have attached some vague photos due to not being able to get a good angle for all the junk in the garage. I will get better ones soon as we have cleared some stuff out. The second Standard is Maroon coloured- not restored, body in good condition, a few dents in rear guard but not much rust. It is not running although Dad did have it running a long time ago. Upholstery is okay. The third is a white one- body in poor condition- surface rust on roof, paint fade, sills rusted. Motor has not been running although I recall it running a long time ago. Upholstery is original and average condition I guess. There are ample parts as the body of a fourth Standard 12 (a blue one) was recently dumped. Lots of extra parts: wheels, radiators, grills, diffs, blocks, full engine, gear boxes, so many parts I'm unsure what is what. There is even a full set of new blue re-covered leather seats. Probably meant for one of the projects. Wondering if you could suggest a rough price for each car before I advertise, or the best way to sell them. I was thinking it would probably be better to sell the White and Maroon cars together with all the extra parts in one lot, I dunno. Any help you can give would be appreciated. If nobody is interested in buying from NZ, I just wondered if you thought realistically someone would be interested in freighting them back to the UK.

Literature for Sale

I have a 1934 Standard 10 Car Instruction Book with stuck on label saying
"suitable for 1935 cars" all of which has been used and is well thumbed but
pretty much complete. The car it came with belonged to my Grandfather who died in 1972 having given up motoring some 10 years earlier. He was the second owner having bought it when it was two years old. It was known as "The Swell Cab". I regret however the car did not survive. Would the manual be of interest to anyone?
