Club
Spares Scheme:
Some of your membership fee is used to purchase new old stocks of spares when they become available. When resources allow, and there is a demand, we also remanufacture some parts. Therefore, to avail yourself of the Spares Service, you must be a current member and you will be asked for your membership number. This avoids non-members taking advantage of members generosity. Please don't waste our club officers time if you are not a member! You can join simply by clicking on the link above, which also appears on every page on this site. You should note that due to the age of our cars, spares are becoming increasingly rare, so please try to plan your restoration or repairs to ensure you have parts in good time. It may often be necessary for you to use second hand parts in non critical applications. All our spares officers are volunteers and the spares scheme is NOT run as a business. Therefore please only call in the evenings and at sensible times. Foreign members please note the time difference. The club spares and fulfilment officers offer a supply service only. If you are unsure how to fit any of the parts you purchase, from the club or elsewhere, please seek advice from a fellow owner or a professional mechanic local to you. Finally, we always need more spares! If you know of sources of Standard Spares, please let the Spares Officers know, and we will negotiate their purchase at realistic prices.
This store covers all production up to 1948. Spares for Pre-war cars, in particular, are becoming very rare. All owners are advised to purchase whatever spares they find, whenever they find them. Do not wait for a wearing part to fail, chances are it will be difficult to source. That said, the club has stocks of some gaskets, pistons, valves, brake linings, brake cables and ignition parts amongst many other things. WEBSHOP SERVICE: A range of some of the more popular spares can be purchased securely online from the Club's WebShop. Please check to see if the items you need are here. Our intention is to expand the range of Spares available on the Shop. Eventually everything we have will be listed, but this will take some time to complete. Your first port of call is the WebShop Spares Section - here The spares are now distributed amongst a number of fulfilment officers spread all over the country. It is not possible to contact the fulfilment officers directly and the one you contact may not stock the part(s) you need. If, after looking at the WebShop, you have a spares enquiry, you should contact pre48spares@standardmotorclub.org.uk Thank you for your patience as our volunteer staff load more lines of spares onto the shop

VANGUARD SPARES NEWS UPDATE 12th February 2013: Peter has updated the list of the Club's stock of Vanguard Spares lines in an Excel Spreadsheet. The Club has invested substantial new money in further stock during 2012 and there are now over 1500 lines listed. We believe this to be easily the biggest stock of Vanguard Spares available in one place, so please take advantage by ordering today. If you are not a member, Membership can be purchased at the same time from here. You can try us for parts first, simply by looking at the Parts list below. Please destroy any previous copies of the list that you may have. The new spreadsheet is downloadable from here (You will need a copy of Excel running on your machine before you will be able to read this.) Note that this list is up to date as at February 2013 - but is subject to constant change. Note that when items are sold it may not be possible to replace them, so buy now. Alternatively, they may be replaced by stock that we have bought in at a different price. Vanguard owners are indebted to Peter, who as a volunteer has compiled this enormous list and manages the Warehouse, all in in his Spare Time.
