Motor Club Spares - Remanufactured Water Hoses, Standard 10, 12
and 14. The Standard
Motor Club continues to make new components available to its
members. We now have available two new remanufactured rubber water
hoses, which suit a variety of applications.
The first is 2 3/16" inside
diameter top hose containing a right angle. It can be cut to
length for any Standard that requires a nearly right angle top
hose. That includes 1934-1936 Standard 10 and 12, prewar Flying 12
and 14 and 12hp and 14hp postwar to 1948. The correct hose
is made simply by trimming one or more limbs. The hose is
made from reinforced Silicone which can be cut with a hacksaw.
The second hose, shown bottom in the
picture is suitable for any application where a 1 3/8" inside
diameter hose with a right angle in it is required. This includes
the bottom hoses for all the cars above, and again must be cut to
the length to suit your application. This is a rubber moulded hose
Cutting of either hose does not prejudice
its performance.
The price for the first hose is
£22 and the second is £10, both plus p&p. Please do not
confuse these new components with autojumble stock which will have
a relatively short life, if you can find them. And you get two
free lengths of surplus with each hose purchased to find a use for!
It makes sense to fit and forget
a pair or carry them with you in your car for the time your hoses
let you down.
