Warning!
The
security warning below is issued following news at
the recent Standard -Triumph Forum meeting of a
crime that has been perpetrated on a member of a
fellow Classic Car Club.
The
member advertised his car for sale in their club
magazine and was pleased to receive an offer from
abroad for it, for £2000 more than the
asking price, providing the seller could
containerise the car and ship it within an agreed
timescale. The cheque was duly received and
cleared. It isn't clear to me if the car was
actually shipped, but nevertheless the
payment was subsequently stopped. This is
apparently possible for foreign transactions.
If you have a similar offer
therefore, please beware and heed this advice, its
probably a scam!
