Two 1920’s Cars for Auction on 16th April 2014

These rare cars did not sell at the auction on the 29th March 2014, Paul Newsome has informed me that they will be auctioned again on the 16th April, they are to be auctioned at the same location.

Phil Homer has seen these cars and writes:

I inspected both cars in their "Barns" in 2008. It wasn't possible to see much of them under years of detritus and the barn had collapsed on the roof of the saloon. They really are the most unloved 20's Standard I have ever seen. There were other non Standards in much worse condition standing in the open. There was even a stream running through one barn! Before I could make an offer the owner (executor) declared he had sold them "abroad" for "several thousand pounds". I therefore lost interest. I wasn't able to collect the commission numbers. Both of them would be very challenging restorations but the saloon is very rare. They appear to have been cleaned but the condition is much as I remember. Perhaps the new owner has realised he can't do them and is moving them on, possibly at a loss.

I hope someone is prepared to take them on.

Details of the cars as listed for the original auction can be found here and enter Standard in the search box.
