Darrell Cunningham has sent this report on the Beaulieu Auto Jumble held over the weekend of the 18th & 19th May 2013

Beaulieu Auto Jumble was held this year on Saturday the 18th & Sunday the 19th of May. Thanks firstly to members of the New Forest Group and in particular Alan Tibot & Dave Salter who travelled down on the Friday evening and erected the new waterproof gazebo.

By the time Darrell Cunningham had arrived in his 1939 Standard Flying Eight Tourer the Stand was nearly ready, only needing a Standard on show. Many members & friends dropped in to say hello and read the literature available.

Several car owners expressed an interest in joining the club. There was the chance to view the engine of the Flyer and ask questions about parts & events. On the badge bar of the Flyer members of the public were able to see this year’s special car badge struck specially for the 110th anniversary of the Standard Motor Company

Two events in particular had leaflets to take away.

Being held in the South 16th to 18th August

Taking place on June 2nd, being run by Gemini Events.

A group of Standards led by the 1939 Flying 8 Tourer will be driving on it in aid of charity.

The first day was sunny. However Sunday was a bit overcast with showers.

Taking advantage of the new larger gazebo the display car was housed under cover so that visitors could still see under the bonnet.

Grateful thanks also to Margaret Parkes for dropping in on Saturday with delicious cakes & biscuits, Neil Osborne of the South of England Group for helping man the stand on Sunday, Len Barr & Steve Smeltzer who both filled in on Sunday. Monday morning saw Darrell & Alan again at the showground taking down the gazebo.
