Classic Car Weekly Car of the Year

The Caithness 1959 Standard Ten which was saved from the Ford Scrappage Scheme with the help of the Club's Scottish Group leader Bob Alexander and is now in Dundee Motor Museum appeared on Classic Car Weekly's shortlist for their Car of the Year, up against a 1970 Morris Minor with 3017 miles on the clock, a 2018 Jaguar E Type Zero electric conversion, a 1968 Ford Mustang which appeared in events to mark the 50th anniversary of the film Bullet including Goodwood, a 1958 Austin Westminster which marked the 60th anniversary of the British Saloon Car Championship at Goodwood and a 1957 BMW 507 owned by John Surtees from new and sold for a record price at Bonhams Festival of Speed Sale.

The Standard Ten won the vote and has a double page spread on the current two week edition of Classic Car Weekly for 12th/19th December.

Many thanks have to go to Bob Alexander who marshaled a lot of Scottish support for the vote of CCW readers as did the Club's Facebook page.

It's great publicity for the Standard marque.
