The Standard Motor Club is THE club for all Standard Owners and fans
Is this the most unusual view of a Standard on this Website?
What you are looking at is the underside of a 1960 Ensign which is being restored at the Gaydon Centre of the British Motoring Heritage Trust.
As you can see, the car was pretty rotten in the sills, floor and chassis legs and requires considerable new metal to be let in. The work is being done by a team of volunteers and clearly it will be a very thorough restoration.
One item that the team will be needing is a replacement cylinder head for the 1760cc engine, if anyone has one.
No estimate has been given for completion but when it is finished the car will join the Gaydon collection.
