Honorary Membership 2014

Presented to Brian Parkes on  Saturday 16 August 2014 over the weekend of the South of England Gathering at Breamore House.

Brian Parkes has been awarded Honorary Membership of the Standard Motor Club in appreciation of the service he has given, and is still providing, to our membership.

Brian is a long-standing member of the Standard Motor Club  and runs a Standard 14. He has an immense store of knowledge and expertise which he willingly shares with others. He works tirelessly to help our club members keep their cars on the road. He took on the organisation of the pre 1948 Spares scheme with great enthusiasm and he is also our Spares Sourcing Officer. Brian has a network of contacts in the motor trade and he is well placed to organise remanufacture or reconditioning of essential parts.

Brian dedicates much time to the Standard Motor Club, and in the past has been awarded our ABCD (Above and Beyond the Call of Duty) trophy. His service has also been recognised more widely when in 2009 the Standard-Triumph Forum awarded him the Harry Webster trophy.

The SMC thanks Brian for all he does and hopes that he will enjoy the Honorary Membership in recognition of his dedication.
