Bristol Classic Car Show Report

Bristol Classic Car Show, January 2005

Despite its name, this show is actually held some 30 miles from Bristol at the showgrounds near Shepton Mallet. The Club is ever present in their draughty cowsheds! No place for any self respecting Standard owner to be at the end of January! You can see that most people wrap up warm even though they are inside! Many thanks to the hardy souls that turned up to visit us.

My apologies, this photo above was on a long exposure, if anyone can send a better shot of the team, I would be grateful. The shots below are all somewhat better and show the 3 vehicles on the club's stand:

Above is Dennis Brown's recently restored maroon Flying 12 from 1938, though carrying a prototype 1939 body. Below is Beverley Worby's Standard 10 Van, ex Bill Dolling. This rare van is for sale, if you are interested in it, contact the webmaster for Beverley's details.

Finally, there  was this pretty 1934 Standard 10 in almost obligatory dark blue and black, the first time this car has featured on a club stand.

Our thanks go, as ever, to Bob and Val Richardson, who work tirelessly for the Club and to owners for bringing their cars out.
