New Zealand Centenary Event

Just a quick note from the bottom of the world or the top depending on where you happen to have your wheels parked at the time.

The weekend of 29/30 March 2003 was one of mixed weather conditions  here in Nelson, New Zealand which served to heighten the experience of celebrating 100 years since the foundation of the Standard Motor Company.

Standard owners from through out the land converged to exchange stories and experiences with those of like mind.  Driving  the flag with pride and honor to a number of venues within the City and surrounding country side.  Included were visits to private car collections along with displays at the World of Wearable-art & Collectable Cars, Pigeon Valley Steam Museum and Founders Historic Park, most impressive displays at each to cater for the differing interests of all.  Fifteen vehicles were on public display at Founders Historic Park on the morning of the 29th, it is often said a picture is worth a thousand words.   These snaps are added for the enjoyment of all Standard lovers and show the  flag continues to fly 100 year after the dream was realized, much to the delight of past and present owners.

Thanks Stephen, not all the photos you sent me worked out, so if you have any more, please try sending them again. I cant associate your captions wth the right picture either, so please advise me.
