Archive Shots of a Kenilworth

Hi Phil,

You might be interested in the attached photograph which was taken outside my wife's Grandfather's Garage in London Road, Redhill, Surrey. The car parked outside looks like a Standard 'Kenilworth'. What do you think? If so, feel free to use the photograph.

 Hi Nigel,

I think you are right, its a Kenilworth on the V3 chassis. If I am wrong no doubt someone will write in to correct us.

The photo is very evocative of the period. It appears that petrol is being dispensed to the motorbike from the pump at the kerbside. Not only would its position be totally unacceptable today but so would the fact that it is most likely hand-cranked.

I am aware that there are other cars and information that could be added to this site to make it more comprehensive, so if you have material and photographs, please let me know.  Please send me, Phil Homer, a message at: Phil Homer
