Stirling was good enough to endorse the Standard Pennant in circa 1959, so we have to go along with that.
When the late lamented, Motor Racing Icon visited the Standard Motor Club's stand at the NEC in the Centenary year, 2003, he was pleased to see the original advertisement and to pose with it next to a Standard Pennant.
