A successful and enjoyable weekend was had by all.
Chris Bowden and Team prepared the site, cutting the grass and erecting the Gazebo for the Club Stand, prior to the weekend. Potted flowers and plants were the finishing touch.
The usual Road Run to Teignmouth was on the Friday evening, finishing with a fish and chip supper.
We arrived on the Saturday morning in glorious sunshine to our Club Stand brimming with vehicles all looking very polished and well turned out. Luckily we had our usual spot under the shade of the trees, a welcome reprieve from the intense heat of the day!! The Standard Club Stand had a continuous flow of visitors over both days, with tea and cakes in abundance. It was obviously the cars that drew in the visitors, but the lure of cakes probably helped!!
There were over thirty Car Club Stands, more than 100 privately entered cars, Commercial vehicles and a record number of Steam Traction Engines. Certainly a well attended Rally. Plenty of stalls to meander through, along with the ever present Autojumble.
We were treated to the passing through of the Steam Train and again on it's return journey. Another special moment, obviously pre-
Saturday evening we paid our annual visit to the Swan's Nest, where we enjoyed a meal in good company -
Sunday afternoon brought another surprise for the Club. We were awarded Best Car Club Stand, for another year. A few of the cars were driven into the main arena where we were presented with the trophy. A perfect finishing touch to a lovely weekend.
