Two shots of
personnel in the Allesley Road Training School of the Standard
Motor Company
These two factory
photographs were taken in the same classroom of the Standard
Training School. The first shows Managers and Trainers, the second
shows apprentices or trainees. Both shots appear to have been taken
about the same time. Clearly, the Herald, which is illustrated on
the wall behind them has been launched, but the training topic is a
number of six-cylinder, probably Vanguard Six engines. That means
that the photo dates from 1961 to 1963. As usual you can click on
the photographs to see an enlargement of each of them.
I am told that the
gentleman on the right of the Group of managers is Ray Henderson,
but can anyone confirm this and name any of the other participants.
