Subject: Trying To Identify Automobile

I have been trying for several months now to identify an automobile from a 1951 Sci Fi movie The Man from Planet X. A recent reply to a post stated the car might be a Standard 8hp Drophead Coupe. I have enclosed pictures taken off the TV screen from the movie. I could mail you the DVD if that would be helpful as the photos are not perfect. The curved doors on the vehicle have eliminated many makes: Riley/Armstrong Sedley, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bob, Easy really, you have come to the right place.

Its a 1945-48 Standard 8 Tourer (Not DHC) The Tourer has cutaway doors and sidescreens like this one
The DHC has conventional doors with windup glass windows. like this one

Hope this helps,

Kind regards
