| Another
Doretti Reborn - RRH 389

Here are some shots of
Maurice Ford's Swallow Doretti. I make no apologies for the
inclusion of another Doretti in these pages as it is essentially a
Vanguard "kit car". Maurice has restored this car himself
and it is pictured here on its very first outing - to the TR
International Weekend at the 3 Counties Showground at Malvern.
Maurice could not have chosen a worse day for his car's debut since
it threw it down with rain incessantly all day! You can no doubt see
the rain in the photographs!
The car is a tubular
framed special with suspension, steering and engine from the
Standard- Triumph parts bin. Maurice has finished this one in the
closest colour he could find to the original, which is a Jaguar
Regency Red. I hope you agree with me that this is is a very
suitable colour for the car.
I don't have pictures
of the restoration, but if Maurice would like to send me some, I
will add them. As this is the second Doretti he has restored he must
be getting the hang of it, so if you need help with yours, it may be
worth contacting him. Contact the webmaster
in the first instance.
