Standard Little 9 in Auction

1932 Little 9
in the rain
It
was a rainy, windswept day in Buxton, Derbyshire for the H&H
Auction, which your roving reporter attended. The Little 9 didn't
appear in the printed catalogue, only on an addendum sheet as a late
entry. As lot 77 it was also the last vehicle of the day.
Despite
the rain the car looked very presentable. Clearly a restoration
completed some time ago the paintwork and interior all appeared in
good order. The only blemish was a cracked passenger door window.
The car had a "100 years" licence holder so obviously took
part in the centenary celebrations at Coventry
I
didn't stay until the very last "knockins" to see if the car
sold. However the H&H website later shows that the car sold
for £2750 ( Estimate 2000 - £3000 ) Good value for the new owner,
who of course is eligible for membership of the Club
Rather
better value for money, I think, than this other "star" of
the Auction that day. This was a 1901 Decauville 8Hp. Take a
good look at the remains of this car first, then scroll below the
picture to see the selling price

This
restoration project sold for an unbelievable £90,200 including
commission and VAT !
