Hello Mr Jané
I understand that you have no
documents with the car.
The Car is a circa 1933 Standard
Little 9. Certainly it is a late model. If you give me the
commission number which is on a plate under he bonnet on the
bulkhead ( firewall) then I can tell you the date more
accurately.
I think it is a Little 9 because the
front doors are mounted ( hinged) on the A post, ( Later 9's
have them mounted on the B post) and the pointed lower corners
of the windscreen.
This car has some unusual features
and I wonder if any reader can shed any light on the reasons:
- The car should have wire
wheels, the pressed steel wheels are not the originals.
- The car has an interesting
boot fitted. The 9 would have had no boot, so the spare
wheel was mounted on the outside. Someone appears to have
added a boot and mounted the spare wheel on the
outside of that, It appears to be very well done
- but not in the Standard factory. Or maybe it was an export
only fitting?
The rest of the car appears to be
complete but the original side and stop lights have been
replaced, and flashing indicators added.
It is difficult to say how much the
car is worth in Spain as there is no market for them. In England
the car is worth 500€ to 1000€ if someone wants to restore
it - because restoration will cost many thousands of Euros on
top of that.
If you would like to advertise the
car in the club's magazine, please let us know by reply to this
email. It would subsequently be advertised on the website -
there is no charge for this
Below is the 2nd photograph sent
of this car, showing more detail of the grafted on boot
If you know of other Standards in
Spain or elsewhere in continental Europe, please send me an
email.
I am aware that there are other cars
and information that could be added to this site to make it more comprehensive, so if you
have material and photographs, please let me know. Please send me, Phil Homer, a
message at: Phil Homer
