The SS II Mk 1 was built in 1933 and based on a Standard Little 9.
Here is an image of this very rare car.

This example is owned by the Jaguar Heritage Trust.
The SS II Mk 2 was based on the Standard 10 chassis of 1934 and could be fitted with the 10Hp or 12Hp engine.
All the The SS chassis were built by Standard and supplied to SS, across Coventry, for SS to put their bodies on. At the time, SS had no engineering capability so only provided the Coachwork.
This featured SS II is owned by Bernard Rice, a Club Member.

Bernard has very little history prior to obtaining the car in 1976 . It was then stored for the next 15 yes when a long and problematic full nut and bolt restoration was begun. A further period stored at home followed by a stroke of luck. Bernard met an excellent motor engineer who had apprentice experience of SS1 and 2s, and the car was finished in 2013, and is now in the condition shown.

The cars are very attractive 2-door four- seater Coupés. They are very welcome Members in our Club.

Obviously the cars share parts with the Standards of the era, and these can be obtained from the Club's Webshop
