The MG Owners Club, together with the Standard-Triumph Forum, combined together to mark the 100th Anniversary of the 2 Marques.
The Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit was hired to celebrate the event and all the MG and Standard-Triumph Clubs were in attendance.
It was Standard that saved the Prewar Triumph Company by purchasing the rights to the name in 1944. Hence, all Postwar Triumphs were designed, developed and built by Standard Employees at Canley. The survival of Triumph is purely down to the influence and input of the Standard Motor Company, and it was to celebrate this fact that all Standards were invited to participate in this celebratory weekend.
All of the Standards present were featured in the "100 Years of Triumphs” Timeline on Copse Runway on both Saturday and Sunday.
With very little shade, both days proved to be very hot! We were very pleased to be visited by Nick Black and his family – Nick is the youngest son of Sir John Black, former Managing Director of the Standard Motor Company.
The photos show the Standards that were present.
The Club thanks both the Standard Triumph Forum and the MG Owners Club for sponsoring this once-in-a-lifetime event.
