Restoration Show at the NEC

We have an exciting display of Standards for this year's Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show from 21st-23rd March.

From the popular 8 and 10 range we have two contrasting 1957 cars. One is a facelifted 1957 8 Gold Star saloon model with an aluminium grille and opening boot which has never been restored.

The other is a half dismantled 6 hundredweight Standard 10 van in the early stages of a restoration which should lead to its hopefully making a fully restored appearance at the November NEC Classic Motor Show to celebrate 70 years of Standard 10 derived commercial vehicles.

The other 2 cars in our display are from the 1930s.There is a 1934 Standard 10 owned by 3 generations of the same family since new which has over 360,000 miles on the clock, has never been restored and will be driven to the Show. The owner is also bringing in some parts he hopes to use in carrying out some bodywork repairs on the car.

Finally there is a 1937 Flying Light 12, an early example of the well known Flying Standard range. It has had a remarkable history, having spent time in Denmark and France under its original family owners. It has now been acquired by a Northampton couple who have been carrying out a sympathetic rolling restoration to keep it on the road. It now shares a garage with their replica AC Cobra coupe.
