Updated: Dec 14, 2024

We asked what was the name of this Standard produced aircraft.

ree

The correct answer is a Bristol Beaufighter. This particular Standard-built Aircraft is exhibited in the RAF Museum, Hendon.

Drum Roll please!

The Winner drawn from the correct answers goes to SMC Member, David Wotherspoon. Well done David!

December Prize Competition

This is a very rare Standard – so rare that an example does not survive today! Note the solid wheels and the unique way the trailing bonnet edge meets the body-tub. Remember, there is no example of this Model on the road today

My thanks to Len Barr for the photograph
