An impressive selection of Standards were on display in Hall 4 at this year’s Classic Motor Show at the NEC.
First, I must mention the Standard 10 6cwt Van. Shaun Russell displayed this Van as a restoration project at the Restoration show in March this year with a vow to restore it in time for this November’s Classic Show. Well, he managed to finish it on the day before the show and it was subject to a great “reveal” on Friday, the first day.

Here, Peter Lockley introduces Andrew Roberts a Motoring Journalist and Anna Berezova who jointly removed the cover to display Shaun’s handywork. The Van is finished in the original Lichfield Green, though it was never that shiny when it came out of the factory!
Here is the Van as presented to the Restoration show.

And here it is finished!

Moving on, to the rest of the cars representing the Club at the Show:
Standard Flying 12 Saloon from 1937: A local car from Northamptonshire presented by Terry and Lynn Oxley, a fine car being taken to the next level with a continuous restoration programme. (Right in image below).

(Left above) Phase II Vanguard Saloon: Another local car from Henley-in-Aden presented by Nigel Woodward – Sheath. A beautiful Vanguard in Blue metallic paint.
(Right below) Standard 8 Saloon: The organiser’s transport, used to bring in display materials for the stand, showing the versatility of the opening boot with fold-down rear seats, making a Standard the ideal starter classic for anyone!

The following Video shows the cars at the show https://youtu.be/IpYoBxxQzww?t=90559055 and this feature provides a permanent record of the whole weekend.
Take an opportunity to look around the rest of this Website, there is plenty of interest for Standard fans!
And it never rolls off the bottom of the page.
