The Raymond Mays V-Eights

Original article and images: Phil Homer

Raymond Mays built 5 Sports Cars based on Standard V8s in 1938. Two of them survive.

This is a feature on one of them, a white Tourer, FLN 386, that first appeared in "Triumph World" in Oct/Nov 2018. The car was subsequently sold to the USA.

A second feature, on a Red Raymond Mays Drophead Coupé will appear here later.

The Car when new, was photographed with Raymond Mays at the wheel and Ken Richardson on the rear wing. The cat (on the door) tried to escape having its photo taken!
