This was the 28th running of the RBRR, organised by Club Triumph, to which all Standards and Triumphs are invited.
The 2000 mile run takes place on a non-stop basis starting and ending at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire. Each car has a crew of two or three and no fewer than 102 teams entered this year. The event is designed to attract donations for charity. This year’s event took place on October 3rd to 5th. Lynda and I were pleased to greet them when they arrived back at Knebworth House.
The route goes north to John O’Goats, then south by a series of Checkpoints for the entire length of the UK to Lands End, and finally back to Knebworth. A total journey time of 48 hours.
Of particular interest to Standard Motor Club Members were three crews: First was a Standard 8 of Roger Keys and Jason Chin. This was modified to run a Standard 10 engine with an Alexander factory approved twin SU conversion.

Next was the Standard Atlas Pickup of Pete and David Shepard with Steph Chamberlain. The original 948cc engine has been replaced with a 1500 cc engine and the Pickup also has a 4 speed Gearbox. This was the first Standard Atlas ever to enter the event.

Lastly, two Club Members, Conan Lewis and Guy Singleton with their friend Richard Drew piloted a Dolomite 1850 all around the course.

I am very pleased to congratulate all three crews and their reliable steeds. They all finished the course, arriving at Knebworth just after 7pm on Sunday.
The Donation page is still open. I encourage you all to contribute to the cause of Parkinsons UK by using the link below. Thank you for marking the great achievement by making a donation.
The next RBRR will take place in 2027. If you would like to participate in a Standard, then please contact Club Triumph. If you would like to support them you can find the page at: https://wonderful.org/fundraisers/7Ary8
