Feature
on a 1931 Avon 9

These shots of a 1931 Standard Avon 9
were taken some years ago when the car was for sale in North London. Its whereabouts over
the last few years are largely unknown, but the car has now emerged again and is in
the ownership of Peter Lee in Cambridgeshire. The car, which is in much the same condition
as shown here, was scheduled to appear on the Club's stand at the National Exhibition
Centre in November 2001. Unfortunately, it suffered a mechanical breakdown on the way to
the show and was unable to complete the journey. As I had unearthed these pictures
from my archives, I promised Peter that I would publish them here. Peter is keen to hear
of any history of his car, if you know of any please send me an email.
It is good to see such a pretty car
being used on the road again.
You can click on any of the three
pictures below to see a larger version of the photograph:
I am aware that there are other cars
and information that could be added to this site to make it more comprehensive, so if you
have material and photographs, please let me know. Please send me, Phil Homer, a
