Standard Herald Companion

Standard built Herald Companion in India

More cars from Karl Bhote in India:

Hi Phil,

This is the extremely rare Herald Companion. I know of none surviving in India. The only one I knew of has been sold to Bill Davies in the UK. Here's pics of the car, (originally NLK 2185, now AP 09 L 8031)

It was restored by my friend Shyam, who sent me these pictures.

You can click on any of these thumbnails to see an enlarged version of the photograph.

Thanks, Karl, I note that the four door Herald had lost its recessed bootlid, but it has appeared again on the Companion's tailgate. Also, the seats and door panels appear to be straight out of the Standard 10 parts bin.

Thanks for the insight into these cars.

Next the Standard Gazel!
