Acquiring a Standard Flying 10

ree

I’ve just acquired this little car, and having owned many more modern ‘classics’ over the years, thought it would be nice to have something pre-war, to use for shows, road-runs, and 1930s and 40’s events.

We are in the process of trying to trace some of its early history, it was supplied and 1st registered on the Isle of Wight and brought down to our area of the southwest, we think in the 1970s.

It was then laid up in a garage in Exeter until around 2009, when it was pulled out and recommissioned followed by what appears to have been a gradual running restoration, with various bits of paperwork to support the engine work carried out.

It is up and running, and we have just done our first road run (for charity) today….

Nearly 40miles with no issues!! (apart from the driver!)
