Flying Standard V-Eight Saloon Restoration - Part 1

This is the only known survivor of the Standard Flying 20 V-Eight Saloon in the UK.

This car has been resting in the garage of a Standard Motor Club Member in Driffield, North Yorks, for more years than I can recall.

However, it has now seen the light of Day and has passed into the ownership of another member, Graham Hart, who has taken it across the Pennines to Lancashire.

The photos were taken on the car’s journey to its new home.

The car needs restoration, starting with the engine - and work is already underway to achieve that. The objective is that will be completed, and the car run in, in sufficient time for it to attend the Standard International Rally at Daventry in June 2023.

You can watch the progress of the restoration here over the coming months.
