HONORARY LIFE VICE-PRESIDENT

The Committee of the Standard Motor Club is pleased to announce that it has appointed its first ever Vice-President.

This Honorary Position, which is awarded for life, is the most Senior position in the Club.

The position is awarded to Brian Parkes, one of our longest Serving Members, Brian is already our Chief Engineering Officer, CEO, and a Committee Member.

This award is presented in recognition of Brian’s many years of service, particularly for his Contribution to the Spares organisation of the Club, in which he continues to participate on a daily basis, as he has done over countless years. Brian’s knowledge and skills have been honed over the time he worked as a fully trained Mechanic in the Automotive Engineering Industry, and more recently as the go-to source of knowledge on the products and spare parts of the Standard Motor Company. This has been invaluable in the design, development and procurement of many of the new products that we benefit from today.

In addition, he knows equally well how to fit all the parts!

We, the Members of this Club, owe Brian a debt of gratitude for the advice and assistance that he continues to give us freely at every opportunity.
